About us…..

Women's Missionary Federation (WMF)
Of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC)

WE ARE THE WOMEN OF THE AFLC,
Young, old, and in between Bound together with our common purpose: To awaken and deepen interest in and love for The Kingdom of God, At home and abroad, Thus sharing in the Great missionary enterprise of the church.

We are His servants – We are His witnesses. All women of the AFLC are encouraged to participate in the WMF in their local church, in their district Spring and Fall Rallies, in the ministry of the National WMF and Annual WMF Day. You will experience times of enjoyment, spiritual growth, and renewed vigor to serve the Lord.

In 1962, the same year the AFLC was formed, women banded together to help further the work of the church - locally, district-wide, nationally, and internationally.

  • Locally: Meetings of the local WMF may be held once a month or as often as the    group wishes. Many creative ideas and suggestions for variety in the meetings are included in the annual resource packets sent in the fall of the year to each local president. The WMF Bible Study may be studied at this meeting or at another time, dividing into smaller groups. The women may decide to support Christian ministries in their area, and/or do quilting, make layettes, and send letters of encouragement to international missionaries.
  • District-wide: Like-minded Christian women meet together to be encouraged in their walk with Christ by attend the Spring and Fall Rallies in your state.
  • Nationally: THE GREAT FAMILY REUNION – also known as National WMF Day is celebrated once a year the day before the AFLC Annual Conference. Very little business is transacted during this time, instead we praise the Lord through worship and song, listen to encouraging speakers and Bible study leaders, and break out into special interest groups for further edification.
  • Internationally: Through encouraging notes, prayer, and financially, AFLC women support the following missionaries:

Pastor Dan and Debbie Giles, Mexico
Pastor Todd and Barb Schierkolk, Mexico
Pastor Connely Dyrud, "Missionary at Large"

Pastor Paul and Becky Abel, Brazil

Pastor Jonathan and Tamba Abel, Brazil
