2010 Evangelism Grant Open for Application
The Commission on Evangelism wants to help your church reach the lost. Since the late 1990's the COE has been the recipient of a generous grant from Thrivent for Lutherans. In turn, the COE distributes these monies each year through the individual grant proposals submitted by various AFLC congregations. Outreach proposals have creatively ranged from harvest festivals, music events, community seminars, skateboarder outreach and on and on.
Our committee prayerfully reviews each application although we are not able to accept every proposal or the amounts always requested.

Grant Eligibility:

If your congregation received a Thrivent Evangelism grant in 2009, please note that your 2009 reports must be in the hands of the Commission on Evangelism before a 2010 grant proposal is considered.

The application must be legible, preferably typed.

The application must be 100% filled out.

The project leader must be a layman.

The project must be one that is new to the congregation.

The evangelism must utilize a hands-on approach to reaching the lost. If you have questions about this, call (763) 545-5631, ask for Jim.

The proposal much be clearly explained. (Is it SMART? Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely.)

A minimum of25% of the cost of the outreach must be funded by your congregation.

Detailed accounting for all grant monies used is required.

Please note: Thrivent will not pay for hardware/equipment(computers, sound systems, upgrades, etc.)
- Return your completed proposal to the COE by March 26th, 2010.
