A Heart for Home
Welcome to the website of AFLC Home Missions! We are delighted with this opportunity to share the church planting movement of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations within the United States. In the following pages you will read about God working through ordinary men and women, teenagers, pastors, and retirees to impact the United States for Jesus Christ. We invite you come join us!
>>What is Home Missions?
Home Missions, like World Missions, is intent on making disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ. Home Missions' unique focus, however, is on establishing brand new congregations (not merger congregations) within the 50 United States. Home Missions is active in the training and equipping of pastors and laity for new ministry works, providing direction, counsel, training, support personell, and most importantly-prayer covering. We find our example in the Apostle Paul's New Testament church planting model.
As a new church matures, it graduates from Home Mission status to the regular AFLC congregational roster.
>>Our Mission Statement
Out of a desire to honor Scripture, we seek to equip laity and pastors for Kingdom work and establish free and living congregations.
>>The Challenge
We face a mind boggling challenge—we could put a pastor and his team into just about any community in the United States and find people who need Jesus... if we had the men and the resources. "Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest." John 4:35
