• systematically covers specific topics for each grade level, so that students receive a complete overview of the Scriptures as they move through the series
• correlates with Luther's Small Catechism, which emphasizes the way of salvation, Law and Gospel, sin and grace, daily repentance and faith, and teaches the work of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and how this relates to the Christian life.
• helps students understand the significance of the Means of Grace (the Word, Baptism, and the Lord's Supper) in their daily lives
• upholds the authority and inerrancy of the Scriptures
• uses New American Standard Bible (NASB 1995 Update)
• focuses on the Gospel as the power for salvation and sanctification

• calls unbelievers to receive salvation through faith in Christ
• encourages personal devotional life through Bible reading and Scripture memory

The people of the AFLC have designed the Sunday school curriculum specifically for our AFLC congregations. The goal of the curriculum is spiritual life -- teaching the Gospel so that our congregations will be truly "free and living" in Christ.

The Ambassador Sunday School Series is written by the people of the AFLC to serve our AFLC congregations and systematically gives students a complete overview of the Scriptures as they move through the series. Beginning in second grade, the biblical lessons also lead students through Luther’s Small Catechism. The second grade curriculum focuses on the Ten Commandments, third grade on The Lord’s Prayer, and fourth grade on The Apostles’ Creed, giving elementary age students a foundation for confirmation. The catechism section of the new fifth grade curriculum teaches about the Means of Grace (the Word, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper).

New curricula for Preschool, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-5 have been completed in the Ambassador Sunday School Series. Grades 6, 7, and 8 are in the process of being written, and the Board of Publications hopes to begin design and layout work for one of these grade levels in 2009.
