Youth Workers Retreat 2010

Disciplemaking is Relationships was the theme of our 2010 Youth Workers Retreat.

Two key verses from our training are:
Mark 1:17-18, "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him." and 1 Corinthians 4:17 "For this reason I am sending toyou Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere inevery church."

Testimonies from the week!

"One thing that really spoke to my heart was the message of Jesus coming alongside His disciples in community in order to teach them how to become disciples...teaching us that we are not supposed to do this on our own.  It was also refreshing to have people heart to heart with me, and really caring and understanding.  The lack of personal inflow is super noticeable when real inflow is encountered.  The thing that I am taking with me is the challenge to really think about loving the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength at least 3 times a day.  Thanks for putting on such a great retreat!"

"In Jesus' day, a disciple was understood to be a student apprentice who was devoted to following the teaching and lifestyle of a spiritual teacher. Mark 3: 13ยท15 tells us, "Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to Him those He wanted, and they came to Him. He appointed twelve - designating them apostles - that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons." Discipleship involves being with Jesus, being sent out by Jesus, and making more disciples who follow Jesus."  Read the whole article
