Moment of the MonthNational Youth Workers Convention
Have you seen State Farm's recent ad campaign? There's one commercial in particular that stood out to me the other day. A woman in the airport on her computer taking the "red eye" saying "You know where I am? The intersection of my inbox is out of control and haven't had a day off since the third grade, you know the place where you can't get a minute to check your voicemail let alone shop for car insurance? Ya, you could say I'm there."
Do you ever feel this way as a youth worker? Where are you? The intersection of your inbox is out of control and 50 million things to get done today, you know the place where you have ten different student's sporting events to make it to this week and a youth group message, sunday school lesson, Friday night fundraiser, weekend youth group camping trip and Saturday morning car wash to be ready for by yesterday. Ya, you could stay you're there.
Okay so maybe I'm exagerating (or maybe I'm hitting the nail on the head?), but as youth worker's we definetly need times of refreshing and renewal. November 21-24, 2008 we are going to the National Youth Workers Convention in Nashville, TN and we want YOU to come with us! We love that the convention is all about Youth Workers. You can go to as many or as few sessions as you want, with an awesome variety to choose from. Worship, speakers, sessions, comedy, concerts, resources, etc. all for you. The whole point is that this is a convention for YOU. Designed for you to be whatever it is you need it to be. "Whatever you need... It's yours." Check out www.nywc.com for more about the National Youth Workers Convention.
