AFLC Evangelism and Discipleship Emphasis Month, January 2021, Video #2 (Transcript)

-Micah Johnson, Board Member-

Well, we made it! Happy New Year! 2020 is behind us and 2021 is now upon us. Now, 2020 had many challenges and, to be completely honest, I’m sure 2021 will come with its own set of challenges. There could be job challenges, maybe some ministry challenges, family challenges, and there could even be some financial challenges, but I know this: we serve a God who is faithful! In fact, Matthew 10:29 says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall from the sky without your Heavenly Father knowing it.” God knows what each of us are going through and in these challenging times, it’s as important as ever for us to be pointing people to Jesus. He’s the only one who can give lasting peace.

My name is Micah Johnson and I’m coming to you on behalf of the AFLC Evangelism and Discipleship department. Over the last year, our department has heard from many of you who are just, honestly, worn out. Churches are struggling to find effective ways to reach out to their community. Pastors are getting burned out. The overwhelming reality is that the Body of Christ needs each other, more now, than ever. We need to be encouraged! While the AFLC Evangelism and Discipleship department doesn’t have the perfect solution for making everything better in 2021, we do want to come alongside our congregations—we want to pray for you, we want to encourage you, we want to provide you with resources that hopefully lighten the burden just a little bit.

One of these new tools that we’re rolling out is a database of evangelistic and discipleship-minded speakers and teachers who are willing and able to conduct special meetings, revival conferences, women’s ministry events…or maybe you’re just looking for somebody to fill a pulpit and provide your pastor with a much needed break after he’s worked so hard through this pandemic. If you’d like to submit a request, please go to our website at www.aflc.org/evangelism and we’ll connect with you and provide some recommended speakers and teachers based on your specific needs. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to hear from you! You can either send us an email or give us a call. We’d love to hear from you and pray with you.

As I mentioned, we all need encouragement and our world is in desperate need of a revival. The AFLC Evangelism and Discipleship department hopes that this, and other tools that we roll out will provide encouragement to our pastors and congregations, as well as provide an instrument by which the Holy Spirit can bring true revival to our congregations, our cities, our nation, and our entire world. Happy New Year and may God richly bless you as you continue to serve Him!
