Student Missions Uganda – 2013
July 21 – August 7, 2013
AFLC Youth Ministries has sent teams of teenagers to different countries with Student Missions since 2004. Student Missions seeks to see high school youth impacted by the Great Commission, confronted with a global culture for a Great Collision, and connected with AFLC missionaries and the Body of Christ around the world resulting in a Great Change in their hearts for the nations. This team of six teenagers and two adults spent July 24 through August 9 in Uganda with Nate and Rhoda Jore.
Testimones from the trip:
Experiencing and serving in Uganda is an opportunity that simply cannot be explained. God showed us how he loves and works in a different culture and made me realize how deep His love is for every single person in the world. I was brought outside of my comfort zone and it benefited my relationship with Christ as well as others I am surrounded by back home.

The hands of God are at work in all parts of the world! Seeing this in Uganda was an experience that will forever remain in my heart. As my shoes will forever be stained by the red dirt of Africa.
Going to Uganda was one of the most incredible and worthwhile experiences I have ever had. As I’ve gotten a chance to look back on those two weeks, I’ve come to realize that dancing with street kids, praying with families in a children’s hospital, sharing Bible stories with single moms, and even spending time with teammates are all breathtaking examples of the kind of love Jesus has shown to us and asked us to live out. This trip gave six girls the chance to experience how God is moving in Africa, and to catch hold of a burning passion for Christ and for missions. The experience we gained, the memories we made, and the ways we saw Christ’s love demonstrated all combined to make this missions trip the beautiful and unforgettable journey it became.
The opportunity to serve in Uganda for 2 weeks was incredible. God is so faithful in carrying out His promises. I guarantee you He will grow and stretch you in ways you never thought possible before, during, and after the trip.
One of the biggest joys in serving with Student Missions has been seeing teenagers grow in their love for God through missions. Their worldviews have changed, and their own understanding of God has matured as they have built relationships with the body of Christ around the world. The best part is seeing how God uses these experiences to shape their future, whether that is on the mission field or the home front.
