PEACE TO GOD’S PEOPLE

God promises His peace to His people, His saints, to those who walk according to this rule, to the brethren and to Israel that is near and the Gentiles who are far off. The warning in Psalm 85:8 is “Let them not turn again to folly.

DENIED PEACE

God denies His peace to the wicked and sinful.

BLESSINGS OF PEACE

  1. Psalm 4:8–We can lie down in peace and sleep—sleep in sure confidence.

  2. Jeremiah 34:5a–You will die in peace. Isn’t it wonderful and comforting to know that even in death there is peace for the Christian! Our Savior in His agony in Gethsemane and on Calvary’s cross manifested a deep calmness and peace throughout His entire ordeal.

  3. Isaiah 26:3–Jesus can give perfect peace within my mind and soul though there are troubles and trials all around me.

  4. Ephesians 2:14-18–Because He is our peace the wall of partition has been broken down between Jew and Gentile, but more importantly between God and man.

  5. Philippians 4:7–This peace of God will keep us and guard us like an impenetrable fort.

It will keep our hearts and thoughts or purposes because it is in Christ Jesus.  This peace is so great it surpasses all man’s conception or understanding its full of blessedness.

PEACEMAKERS

The Lord commands us to be peacemakers.

LIVE IN PEACE

When a man’s ways please the Lord and the result is that even his enemies will be at peace with him.
